tikka v. sako

Um which tikka and which sako? Sako 75 And 85 are completely different bases then the t3 and tikka 595/695's. Most guys are running ringmounts not bases and rings. Just make sure you order for the exact model you have. So the correct answer is no there not the same at all.

Call EGW or Deadnutz, they were both very helpful with the correct fit on my current project which is Tikka T3 Lite.

Don't call anyone but Sako!

Use optilocks or your throwing the whole point of integral bases out the window.

That and the Optilocks don't mar the scope.

Um no my friend. There are many companies that do ringmounts for both sakos and tikkas. There needs to be a distinction here between RINGMOUNTS AND RINGS AND BASES! you should be utilizing the integrated rail if possible. I have warne 30mm on my tikka 595, warne 1" on my sako 75 and stock tikka factory rings on my 223 tikka 595. The problem with the optilocks is there mediums are too low, there real expensive and the screws are soft so they strip out all too ofter. Call neer mfg in canada and ask him what the deal is with the optilocks! But if you can stay away from leupold on the tikkas and sakos and stick with ringmounts if you can.

Warne is ring mount I didn't know about.

Hopefully Sako will come up with a better stock for the Tikka. It is unfair that a superior rifle to the 85 comes in such a abismal stock.

I mostly concur, I just think it is stupid to use the 6x40 screw on mount when you have integrals.

I am a saddle mount kind of guy, and not just a saddle mount I want the saddle mount attached to the receiver, not to set of bases.

The Spuhr system is ideal, but any saddle mount similar like the TRG mount is gravy.

If you don't like saddle mounts and you want a pair of rings instead that is your business.
