Nikon broke not happy!!!!!!

After reading the long range scopes at affordable prices I saw where many people were using the buckmasters 6x18x40 thought what the heck Ill give it a try. Well maybe 20-30rds through the .300RUM and it has a rattling on the inside. Not happy. So looking for scope suggestions that wont take both arms a leg and half a teste.

Vortex, Leupold, Minox or Sightron. If the same problem happens again these company's would fix it quickly. I have dealt with Nikon in the past and it was brain damage. I sold the scope as soon as they repaired it. (2 months later)

would like a nightforce but dont want to sell my boat to afford it! Hope it dont take that long ill be needing it shortly. My uncle went through three on his rum before he found what he liked that still works. Suprisingly a swift like a 6x20x50 with turrets but they no longer make that model, my biggest limiting range is desire for turrets.

Link below talks about shooting over 1300 yards with the toughest scope I've ever had.

It's not a beautiful looking tactical but it's amazingly tough and accurate. Its very low profile turrets are very accurate.

I have had it on my 300 RUM LSS (no muzzle brake) and also on my Sendero 300 RUM (Braked). Hundreds and hundreds of rounds and still going. The link above was
posted about 4 or five years ago!

Use a 20 MOA base and don't forget the scope is calibrated in IPHY (inches per hundreds yards) in other words 4 clicks equals one inch at 100 yards

Also would like to get something in the 6x18 or 6x20 range. Does the sighttron have turrets or has anyone had any experience with the burris tac 30?

There will always be a lemon in any comp..call them and see what they'll do for you, Nikon is a pritty good company and i've never had prob..with there products so far (knock on wood). Good luck!!

Nikon scopes are always available in large quantities as "referbs". Several different retailers often have supplies advertised at the same time. What does that tell you??

With that being said - I've got a 3-12 Nikon on my braked 338RUM that has been holding up fine.

Not knocking the optics on a Nikon just the CS. When I spend money on something I would like to know that the manufacture stands behind it and won't take their sweet time thinking about it when it does break. I have had a total of 3 Nikons over the years and until one went bad I would have never second guessed them.

Weaver makes great glass also but because of the no fault warranty Sightron offers and their CS they now get most of my business.

Well after 35minutes on hold I get a guy that barely grasps the English language. Have to ship it back to nikon. Now if the fix or replace I have to decide if I trust it on there again. I'm goin to wyoming next year and would hate to get there from Arkansas an have a problem with it. Can you post pics of the turrets on your weaver? No one in town has one I can get my hands on.

i sent a 3 yr old buckmaster scope in that failed under recoil...nikon would not fix it, unless i paid 230...will never by nikon again
