My first bullseye

I shot my first cold bore bullseye at 300y today. Army friend shooting with me was amazed. I think my rifle is ready for muley/elk season.

Was using my Win M70 Black Shadow 7mm Rem Mag 26" with new 3-9x40 Tasco World Class Mildot with HSM Trophy Gold 168VLD ammo. Not cheap but I love the stuff.

Watch out. Next you'll be moving out to 600yds and trying that too. Then when you hit there, you'll spend a couple of grand on new scopes and rifles and try for 1000yds... .gun)

Dirty. I never shoot clean. Well maybe once or twice a year. Just wish I could control my third shot which is consistently 6-9" low. I thot it was rifle or hot ammo, but I think it's me. Im gonna have my friend who is an Army SSGT try it, he shoots pretty good groups and is 30 yrs younger.

Check your float/bedding and if possible borrow a better scope and try it.

If it's consistently your third shot, it's probably not you.

I'm guessing you are shooting what a .308?

If you get the same consistent problem at closer ranges I agree with this.

Scope is new, aint changing it. I corrected my first post to reflect the fact that I was in fact using a 7mm Rem Mag as the target says.

My second taget is reverse of the first without the bullseye. Since its reversed I think I'm tipping the rifle in the sandbag on the second shot( studied it for an hour today). Third shot dropping could be me but I think I'll take a look at the bedding screws in the morn. Rifle is all factory and is not a floater bbl. Thanks.

It's ok to be a smarty pants as long as you smile.

I was just looking at holes, not reading the fine print HA!

I'm curious to learn if it's consistently off in the same direction and relatively the same distance. If so, it really makes me think it's a bedding/float issue.

I've also seen a LOT of Tascos that had a loose reticle which would jump around a good bit but in a predictable manner which is why I made the scope suggestion.
