Rem 700 Donor Action

Picked up a LA donor for a steal.....what caliber should I build for BG up to and including Elk?
Include caliber and bullet weight.

How much do you weigh?

Your tolerance for and ability to handle recoil without flinching has a lot to do with what would be the "best answers" to the "best caliber".

Bigger and faster is always better, but only if you don't dread pulling the trigger.

You won't become a proficient long range shooter without a lot of practice and that means a lot of practice at dealing with the recoil.

I weigh 190 and the only magnums I've shot were the .300WM & .338WM. Neither had brakes and didn't bother me.

If you're gonna do it, do it!

.338 Lapua or one of the .338 wildcats.
