What bullets do yall recommend for my elk hunt next year...im taking my biggest rifle the 25-06:D. I need to work up a load.

:Dthanks for the replies everyone.

I just got off the phone with Nosler. I wanted to get their advice on a bullet rcommendation from their product line. I asked in particular about the Accubond and the E-Tip. He told me that I needed a Partition. After about 5 mins of speaking with him trying to get him to budge on his opinion, he still thinks I need a Partition over the Accubond or the E-tip.

I don't like just one man's opinion. That's why I am a member of this forum. Just wondered if anyone agrees with this man or if the Accubond is indeed the way to go.

Just to be clear...I don't know any better either way, just wanted to throw everything out on the table.

Also, I got to ask...why wasn't the Barnes TTSX on ya'lls list liltank, bigngreen? Ya'll havent' drank that coolaid yet?:D I've never used them, but everyone else has them on their list of reccommendations for some reason.

Thanks everyone!

So yall think the Bergers will get the penetration required to reliably take out an elk, huh? I figured the responses would be more like tmax264's. Interesting.

Keep'em coming please!

The partition is a good bullet choice as well, it will open but still have some drive. My dad shot 120gr Hornady interlocks last year in a 250AI and it worked well but nothing over 400yrds, reamed out an antelope, deer and a nice cow elk, it left a wound channel and blood trails that a blind man could follow up on!!

A good friend of mine hunts with a 257 Ackley. He shoots em with 117 Sierra Gamekings @ 2800fps and it kills em as good as anything else. I would lean toward the partition myself. It's been killin critters for a looooong time and is still one of the best selling hunting bullets on the market.

Did you ever have root beer cool aid? I loved it as a kid! Anyways, I've never used Barnes. My cousin used their XLC bullets when they still made them. Can't remember, but I think he liked them. He uses mainly Hornady, Sierra, and Nosler now. I use Hornady and Nosler. Nothing personal against the Barnes, just never used them.

Well first you did not say what yardage you are looking at
If I was using our 25-06(my daughters gun) I would use the 115 gr nosler ballistic tips, shoots sub moa out to 700 yards.
