I spotted some Coleman dehydrated meals in the camping gear at WallyWorld. Each pouch sold for $4.88 or there abouts. Just add a cup or so of hot water in the pouch.

I thought I'd pick up a few to try. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried them?

I haven't tried Coleman, but I did use the Mountain House on a trip into the Gila down in NM last Fall and they were so good I bought over $100 worth last week for the trips I have scheduled this Fall. They are a lot more expensive than the Coleman products, so if you buy any of the Coleman for that price, please let us know how they are.

Snubbie,

All I can say is "buy 'em and try 'em". I would like to know also if they are good or not. I usually just use MRE's and other light "just add water" type meals but always looking for something new. I haven't seen the coleman meal at my wally world, but I havent looked lately either. Please let us know how they turn out.

Wow you was a hungry fella!!! I have a friend back in ncPA that loves Coleman and Mtn House and the mil issue type MRE's. He eats em regular at home when his wife aint around. I trust his judgement when he says they are wonderful cause that guy can EAT. And he's picky. I have yet to try any of them but will soon.

Great! I'm going out on an 11 week trip and will be hunting in four different states, so I'm trying to take as much lightweight food as I can along with me to lighten the load and not be looking for grocery stores instead of hunting! If those are good, I'll probably get some since that price is several bucks cheaper than the Mountain House Pouches.

Okay, I tried one of these today at lunch. I tried the Cheesy Tomato Pasta.
It has rotini pasta, bell peppers, sun dried tomatoes and herbs in a cheese sauce.
I personally thought it was pretty darn good. Not trusting my own judgement, considering I'll eat most anything, I passed it over to my wife. She tried it and said she thought it was pretty good to, better than she expected it to be. I'd say the same thing, it was much better than I expected it to be.

Open pouch, remove the sauce pack, put noodles in bag, pour in 12 oz of boiling water, seal bag for 4-5 munutes. Stir in the sauce pack and you're ready. It had a little packet of parmesian cheese. You can of course, dump the contents into your boiling water pot and cover it for 4-5 minutes. The pouch has a little clear window on the back with measure lines for adding water if you don't want to measure beforehand.
My MSR PocketRocket stove will boil 12 oz of water in about 2 1/2 minutes.

There was plenty of it, it was filling and add a granola bar and maybe a piece of jerky and it would be a pretty filling lunch out on the trail . Beats a cold PBJ.

Anyway, I figure Coleman doesn't make these so I checked out the package and sure enough:
Home
Check under "our products" and they have the Coleman meals listed. You can order them for $4.99 each. I found these at WalMart for $4.88 (I think it was)
I'll be buying more.

My wife checked the Costco up here and they don't handle them. I just ordered 10 of the Coleman Pouches for $4.99 at the company posted on here and even with the $8.95 S/H charges it came to a lot less than the Mountain House products. I will have about 40+ meals now so that will mean that along with meals out on the road I'll have one of these qucik meals about very other day out in the field or in camp.
