Remmington 700 26 inch bull barrel. I've shot about 600 rounds trying to perfect my new rifle. 8 trips out on the chrono and 5 trips to the local bench rest club. I've got 100 gr spbt set to a very consistant 3200 fps IMR 7828 can do 10 shots all within 8 fps spread. So I want to use that number for ballistic calculations.

My question is about how do you measure the targets. Do you measure from center of the hole to the farthest hole center? I was shooting at 200 yards and the center to center is 1.212 inches for 8 shots. Out side edge to outside edge is closer to 1.423 inches. Anyway It is some of the best groups that I have ever shot

If your twist is 1 in 10 inches try Searra .85 HPBT Game Kings or Match Kings and you will probably cut your group size in half. :)

Ask me how I know.

I suggest you try the Searra .85 HPBT Game Kings or Match Kings. They are extremely accurate. I have killed more than 50 deer at up to 300 yds. A fox at 600 yds. Maybe 1,000 wood chucks with them out to 500 yds. :)

My Winchester Mod. 70 Varmint manufactured in 1969 with a 24" stock varmint barrel would shoot 1/4" and less 5 shot groups at 100 yds. before I shot out the barrel. :) gun)gun)gun)

I reloaded using CCI-BR2 primers & IMR-4350 powder. :)

Great info guys.

Sometimes it's easier to first draw a line through what appears to be the center of the hole, then measure from there but normally, I just use my calipers and measure outside to outside and subtract the bullet diameter like midwesthunter said.

I want another .243. :) My last one locked up and is now a wall hanger...

I was having trouble with macro focusing. This is an 8 shot group at 200 yards. It was a gusting wind day and after splattering the paper i taped it up and told my buddy that i was going to try and shoot a good group. These are just Nosler 100 gr SBT loaded to 3200 fps

The top hole is two bullets and the right side 3:00 o'clock is two holes. The calipers are at 1.350 and should be a little wider. 1.350 - .243 = 1.107 inches

The range master verified another 10 shot group at 1.18
