HERE IS THE LADDER TEST I DID TODAY @ 100 YARDS(ALL I COULD SHOOT SINCE 200 WAS DOWN). COULD USE A LITTLE HELP TRANSLATING IT. I REALLY DONT UNDERSTAND THE ALL OF THE 49 GRAINS JUST ODD. I HAD GOOD REST IN THE LEAD SLED AND TOOK MY TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT MY SHOOTING WAS GOOD NEVER HAD A SHOT THAT FELT BAD. THE WIND WAS GUSTING THE WEATHER SAID 10 BUT FELT HARDER.

Why is marked COAL 3.191-3.198?
What are the numbers beside each listed charge(ex: 51.0-.197)?
What was the shot rate?

not trying to just turns out that way . Ultimatley not trying to win any contests just trying to work up a good hunting load out to 500-600,

Is this measure taken from loaded bullet tip to casehead?
Do you know if your actual bullet seating depth is the same for every shell?

I ask because it's very difficult for anyone to interpret 2 variables at the same

Based on what I see on the target I would work up loads between 50.7 and 51.0 grains and between 48.2 and 48.7, those are the weights that showed a cluster of some sort. As for the 49 grain loads , I would say your gun does not like them..

Agreed, 50 gr looks good the shot to the rt may have been a bug poot.

SORRY BEEN A WHILE. I HAVE BEEN DOING ALOT OF SHOOTING HERE IS THE TARGET FROM LADDER TESTING AT 250 YARDS. HAD HORRIBLE 12OCLOCK WINDS AND ONLY 3 ROUNDS OF 51 GRAINS. FROM WHAT I CAN TELL THE 51.2 SEEMS TO SHOOT A LITTLE BETTER. I CONTRIBUTE THE VERTICLE TO THE WIND GUSTING. AND YOU CAN SEE THE 50.7 DIDNT SHOOT AS WELL.
GOOD NEWS IS THAT I CAN HIT A 10" GONG AT 512 YARDS EVERYTIME WITH EITHER THE 51.2 OR 51. OFF A BIPOD OFF MY HOOD WITH A JACKET AS A REAR REST. AS OF RIGHT NOW 500 IS MY CUT OFF AS THIS WILL BE PUSHING THE LIMITS OF MY 25-06 ON BIG DEER. WITH THE LITTLE GIVEN INFO DO YALL THINK THE 51.2 MAY BE A BETTER CHOICE OVER THE 51?

I would shoot the ladder again around(+/-) 51gr -in better conditions.
What seating depth(w/resp to lands) have you chosen and why?

You should focus on more load development & less gong hunting.

Just to clarify Iam not a gong hunter or a paper hunter I hate to do both. Iam a HUNTER through and through. I hunt everything and and anything that I can legally that walks this planet. I have just started reloading becuase of the cost factor. I can shoot more rounds for less money. I have been shooting more to practice on longer ranges(that a new lease, and my new mexico Muley tag requires) not just to hear a gong. Iam not in it to shoot single hole three round groups. I am looking for a cheaper, more consistant hunting ammo.

But i will reshoot the thing again. just to make sure.

reshoot the ladder same thing. couldnt the rl19 and the nos 115 bal tips to group well. I switch to the 117 grain hronadys and h4831sc and some rl22.
I also went ahead and set the bullet .005 into the rifling on all. these what i got. I had a 5-7 mph wind 3-9 oclock. the shots were off the bipod. i want to reshoot a couple of them off the lead sled again to make sure i choose the right ones to continue with. which three should I use?
