Opinions on EGW HD EGW HD Picatinny Rail

I'm trying to help a buddy set up a LR Rifle on a budget. I already put a set of Leupold DD rings and bases on the rifle but the Burris FFII 4.5-14 TACT scope only has 40MOA of adjustment in it and it's taking 30MOA of adjustment to get him to a 200 yard zero. Thus we're shopping for a Picatinny rail with 20MOA of adjustment in it to get him out further and keep the scope operating nearer the midpoint of its adjustment range.

Have any of you tried the HD EGW rail with 20MOA of adjustment in it? I've read both positive and negative reviews of these from others. Does anyone else have some information or experience that they would care to volunteer?

I have 3 of them, two on remingtons, and one on a savage, I have had no problems with any of them, and would recommend them to anyone.

I have two installed, one on a Remington L/A and one on a Browning. The Remington required some straitening even after bedded because of a slight bow. Hard to tell if this was rail or action. The Browning worked perfectly. That said they are certainly not up to the quality of a Murphy or Warn but functional and light weight. I would recommend bedding them. As a side note I have had good luck with the EGW "practical" Rings, very light as well.

The EGW is a good piece, so is the Weaver Tactical.

But since you already have the DD bases why don't you get some Burris Signature DD rings and offset inserts?

The DD is as close to bullet-proof as you can get, and the Signature rings only makes it better.

They give you the adjustment you need for the scope and uses the bases you already have.

Will the Burris Signature DD rings work in Leupold DD bases? Also, will the Burris offest inserts work in the Leupold rings? Please school me on these things, I've read good reports of them over the years but never had any experience with them. Less money that works is definitely the way we want to go on this.

Make sure you get all the oil off them. For some reason, Burris loves the send their rings covered in a ton of oil. Maybe they're deep fried.
