PST comparible scope

Ok ive been waiting for my scope for several months now and im getting to my witts end. I keep getting the run around by a certain vendor, the next week, oh actually next week thing! I need this scope so i can start shooting it, get my turrets setup, get the feel for it, etc.... What would you guys suggest as a comparable scope as far as price and quality. For reference i have the pst 6-24x50 ffp moa on order. thanks

Im not sure we can realy blame the vendor in the case of the PSTs but Im not in your shoes. In fact I cancled my orders months ago and got the new leupold. I dont know what you paid for your scope so hear goes some random ideas.

I tell everyone how happy I am with my 500$ Horus Hawk top of the line optic that gets my 300 wsm to just about 1k and all their scopes are FFP

If your MIL/LE send me a pm and I will give you some advice with Leupold

Buy a used scope there are NF abound on this page and used is still new to you

Call Mike as CS tactical and see what he can do for you he is a stand up guy for sure and he is a shooter with a long product line at his disposal

I was going to cancel my order previously and it seems that the vendor has been stringing me along to keep my order, that is what i dont care for. The price is just around 800$, im at the point where ive waited this long, but holy cow!! Sightron SIII looks decent.

WOW, this is a hard one for giving advice. I have the scope you have on order and love it. I can not see how a different scope would work better no matter what the cost. The glass is very clear and crisp, the turret adjustments are spot on accurate, the parallax adjusts much easier than any other side focus I have ever owned. The illuminated reticule is very clear day or night and has an off click in between each brightness setting. I set the brightness I like then with one click it is off and when I want it on I only have to click one time and it is where I like it without having to re-adjust it.

I also got a Vortex Custom Turret calibrated in yards so when I range my target ( animal ) all I have to do is turn the turret to the yardage # and hold for wind and then shoot. My turret is calibrated for 6mm Norma BR. with 105 gr. Berger VLDs. It is spot on dead accurate all the way out to 900 yds. which is the limit for the 105 gr. Bergers which drop like a brick. I have shot at 1,000 yds. and still have two full turns left on the turret adjustment beyond that with a 20 MOA Picatinney rail and my zero being 200 yds.

If your budget is tight would you be able to pick up an inexpensive scope to use until you "finally" have the PST delivered? You won't regret it.

I think most are getting the 6-24 because if you want more power and you got the 4-16 you don't have it, but if you have 24x you can always turn it down. I have also read that the 6-24's glass is better than the 4-16. I know that I compared my 6-24 PST FFP MOA to my buddies NF "during a sunny afternoon" and I liked mine a little better looking at targets at 400 yds.

There are a lot of posts on here lately on these scopes. Mostly positive, I posted not long ago trying to decide which one to buy. I went with the 4-16 due to the shorter length and slightly lighter weight. As far as most popular my sales rep said they sell four 4-16 to ever one 6-24. The rumor on the glass being better in one versus the other is just that. Rumor.

Bottom line is you can't go wrong with either. They are great scopes.

True, you can dial it down from 24x, but you can't from 6x. In the kind of hunting I do, 6x is too high for some of the close ranges I get into in the timber. Ideally 3x, the most 4.5x for timber shots.

The Sightron SIII is way better than "decent". They just came out with a new MOA reticle model that doesn't have turret caps, nice big knobs. These guys have them in stock SIIISS624X50LRMOA sightron sIII 6-24x50LRMOA

Man I must have gotten super lucky. My buddy told me about the Vortex PST about 9am yesterday and I drove over to Wholesale Sports in Salem, OR and bought one off the shelf. Vortex PST 6-24x50 for $719.99, couldn't see any difference in the glass between this one and a $2100 Swakorski next to it when I looked through them. Incredible scope and the price makes it impossible to pass up. On another note, I did find 3 Sightron III's in 6-24x50 at Philomath Gun Shop in Philomath, OR for $449 each if those help anyone out.

I think the Sightron 6-24x50mm is a SFP scope I believe.

I guess you will need the 4-16x then.

I garuntee you those Sightron's you found for $450 were SII's not the SIII models. Two very different scopes in quality and price.
