My new Mark 4

I just purchased a new Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm LR/T M1 with the TMR

This is my first scope with any type of tactical milling, and Im gathering data.

Can anyone who is familiar with this reticle point me in the right direction please.

I have the M5 version what type of info do you want to know? The manual is pretty extensive.

The reticule is pretty basic, small hash 1/2 mil, large 1 mil, divided into 5. Bottom of main is 1/5 mils, can be used for more accurated ranging. I am using mine and ranging w/notes and animals ,laser back up and see how close I CAN GET. mINE IS m5, with a 200 zero and using reticle my holds are 275,350,412,475,537,600,663,712,that is 1/2 mils too #4 mil,then 825 #5 mil,dial offs the same since I am m5. 7.2 mil gets me 1000. I also made mine a zero stop.

I will read the manual and glad to hear it comes with instructions specific to the reticle. I did not know that and it puts me at ease. Thanks.

I should have known better than to ***-u-me (assume) that it would come with leupolds generic manual that my rifleman scopes came with.

I also have the TMR reticle and it's a great rangefinding reticle. It has the capability of ~.02 mil interpolation accuracy (guessing bracketing of target between lines) between the .2 mil stadia lines (.1 of .2 mil=.02 mil).

First trip out I was collecting drop data for my loads.

After an hour of walking back from the target 100yds at a time I was drilling clay pigeons at 500yds.

Too windy to accurate shots past that. But very happy with first days results..

have that scope, faster to use a drop chart and ballistic program, since ya got m1's, use the TMR for quick judgeing racks, more than 1 mil at 500 yards....shoot!

I dont have a chronograph and every ballistics program Ive seen asks for FPS.

look at some reloading manuals or computer for loads. That can get you a close idea, then since you have some drops already you can see how it compares to a ballistic curve like jbm, then set it up for farther drops. Will help you get close faster.
