Millet Tactical scopes

Anyone have an opinion on Millet scopes? I have read some really good things about their scopes and very little if anything at all bad. I had the same experience with Vortex and well, Vortex is now on my DNR list. So, looking for some user experiences. Please advise.

I just this past weekend decided I want a .300RUM for elk and decided I'd like the Millett TRS-1 4-16 x 50, as I'm on a budget. The scope got an award on opticsplanet FWIW. I've read a few posts here and on 'Hide dating back to 2006. There have been issues now and then, possibly related to the manufacturer in China. I'm looking at a used rifle right now with the Millett scope on it and the guy did admit the scope had a tracking issue and had to be replaced. Seems Millett/Bushnell stands behind their products though, and Millett is on 'Hide among other sites. When they do have issues they're apparently easy to deal with. How often the scopes have issues is the question, I guess.

I know that's not a comment from experience. I'm also interested in any info and experience people have.

i have an lrs 1 on a 300 wm. no tracking problems about 800 rounds threw the gun sence it was mounted. glass is clear enouph to see coyotes at 1275 yrds and accurate enouph to hit them at that range also . its not a 1500 scope but it tracks true and is repeatable over and over. the only thin is it grays up abit (not to bad) after 20x

I just bought that exact scope. I like it- and NO it is not a Nightforce, but it wasn't $2200.00 either. I thought of it as my first attempt at using a tactical turret scope and if I liked it I could always upgrade. Infact I like this scope. I think it will be fine. It is better than I imagined.

I had a similar experience with Vortex(binnocculars) that really dissapointed me.

Enjoy it for what it is- a $310.00 scope that will let you shoot a really long way.

I'm using the BK81008 on a 300wm and it is a decent scope. Could use some better glass but hey then it wouldn't sell for what it does. Seems to track well and is holding up. I'd opt for the mil/mil version unless you just really hate to use mils. I don't think you'll find anything in the same price range with all the same features. I'd say the glass quality is well below what you would see from a vortex viper series but it is usable. The millett is my second favorite scope behind the Vortex PST thus far. If you don't like vortex then by all means go for the millett you might be happy with it.

The problem I have with Vortex is their Crossfire line. I have a Viper on my .300 WSM and love it. I had a crossfire originally but three in a row failed due to recoil. I decided to put one on my .243 thinking it would be fine but within 30 rounds, it started failing from recoil. It started jumping mils each shot.

I thought this would be a good replacement for just a bit more in price but worried about the outcome. No issues with failures and recoil??

Nope not a single issue with recoil. My millett was on my 260 for a long while then I moved it to my 300wm. Been going strong. Holds zero and always goes back where it started when I'm dialing in corrections.
