300. wsm Loads!! First time ever!

My neighbor has been reloading for a while and wanted me to get into it. So he invited me over to do a couple with him and told me to save the brass. Anyways long story short i bought myself some RL-22 and RL-17, he owns some 180 grain SST's and i will hopefully be throwing some loads together shortly for my frist time to really practice. Onces i get decent i will be trying to reload some 180 grain Accubonds once i pick them up and was wondering if anyone has any loads they would like to share.

I shot a Browning A-bolt with about 1000 rounds through it.

I have no experience with RL powders but have shot several others in 300wsm

stick with the 180 grain bullets

I started with H4350, experimented with several others including 4831 and H380 with no improvement.

I use 63 grains H4350 and a 180 grain bullet, mostly Hornady or any of those in green or yellow boxes.

I shot my best 200 yard group was with Barnes 185gr and 62 grains, this bullet prints within 1.5" POA works in cold gun first shot, which is plenty good enough for me. It works the same in any weather, regardless of how miserable shooting conditions.... kind of like Colorado elk hunting.

Not the same cartridge/caliber, but I shoot a lot of RL-22 for my 7mm Rem. I my 257 WSM I have shot a lot H414, but that is more because I have a lot of it in my arsenal. It shoots good enough and I didn't notice much variance with other more "case filling" powders. I do really like the H414 because it measures SOOOOOO easy compared to chopping the RL-22 in the powder measure.

I HAVE NOT VERIFIED THIS, but this guy says it is his favorite load for his 300 WSM:

67.0 grReloder 22 3,000 fps2.84" Fed LR guestThis is the most accurate powder bullet combination load I have been able to get for my Savage 12BVSS 300 WSM. I get 1/4 inch groups @ 100 yards using Hornady 180 gr. SST with 67.0 grs. of RL-22 using Winchester brass, Federal Large Rifle Match primers.
Be aware too, (and I have not personally had this problem), they claim that RL-22 is both temperature sensitive and can vary quite a bit from lot to lot. I have shot probably 20-25 lbs of this over they year and no problem, but just search for RL-22 and varying and you will find quite a bit of posts.

RL-22 is a favorite of mine though...

I to have a browning 300 wsm in the synthetic stainless stalker. I am a fan of the IMR4350. I am getting .685 groups at 100 yds using Federal cases, CCI large magnum rifle primers, 64.5 grns of IMR 4350, and Hornady 180 gr interlock boat tails. I am reloading to hunt deer and elk in a temperature range from 80 to 20 below 0. The powder has performed well in all temps. This is not a max load according to my manual. I would caution that any load you find on here, that you always start your test loads lower and work them up to the load you find. Every gun will have different max pressures points. Never assume it will be safe for you.

I used the same load this weekend and shot a 0.229" three shots at 100yards.
