Hiya Guys,

I have the Nightforce NXS 5.5-22 x 56 scope on my rifle and whilst I like the scope I struggle to see the NP R2 reticule when I am out lamping for rabbits and foxes at night. I have tried using the red setting and it just glows too much and makes shot placement on a small target difficult.

I have just sent the scope off to nightforce to get a scratched rear lens replaced and was considering changing the reticule to the NP2 DD or the CH2, as I think they may be easier to see but it appears to be unavailable in the 5.5-22 x 56 model. If it is unavailable in the 5.5-22 x 56 model can you recommend a better reticule.

What do you guys think of the NP1 & the CH2 ???

Did you try adjusting the brightness of your reticle? I have no problems with my NP-R2, although I haven't actually used it to shoot at night. I have looked through it at night though, and it's fine for my eyes.

I have just been on the Nightforce website and found the article on adjusting the brightness in the online manual. I was not aware it could be altered. I will try it and get back to you.

Thanks Mark

Love the 2DD for hunting at night ! Brings your eye to center very fast. Dot on the critter and DRT !

Think you'd be very happy with it. I think it is great for a hunting reticle ~!
