Anyone using these? How will and easily are they shooting? and anyone know what the req twist is for them? I need some new lead free bullets for all my guns but these or for 300 RUM. I will not use barnes anymore.

I am responding to find out what problems you've had with Barnes? The Nosler .30 cal E-tips should be well stabilized out of 1:10 twist or faster.

I've used the 180 E-Tips in my Sendero 300 RUM and get good velocity and accuracy from them. Best measured group @ 427 yds was 1.8" (.4 MOA) in a slight 2-4 mph breeze. Velocity is 3400 plus using Reutmbo. They averaged about .5 MOA out to 600 yds.

I am curious as well, given that I'm about 3 weeks deep into load development for my 300 RUM and the TTSX (200g) is performing really well for me. But, if you've got information that the rest of us should have, I'm all ears! :) I'd hate to complete the load work up and find out something bad on my own after the fact.

Thanks!

Its not a problem with barnes bullets it was a problem with barnes the company. CA DFG called a meeting about our proposed lead bullet ban and asked a few bullet manufactures to show up. Barnes was the only one to show up. They used the forum as an advertising campaign and lied and used misinformation and advertising tactics to promote their bullets instead of being honest and impartial and supporting hunters.
After i listened to the 2 + hour long meeting online i called barnes they semi apologised and candidly said that they realize that they should have handeled the meeting "DIFFERENTLY". They clearly stated that other that 22lr which they have no knowledge about that barnes bullets are as cheap as normal bullets, more accurate and humain than any other bullets period and there are absolutely no issues at all with non lead bullets. They forgot to mention that they are talking about a price point and that they sell their bullets at a slightly high cost for 1/2 the qty or worse as the case for the 20 pack bullets. They even spoke about loaded ammo as at the same price as regular ammunition. The forgot to mention that some of their bullets require special twist rates like all the varmint bullets that will not stabilize in slow twist rifles and have to be made lighter and thus less accurate and humain. They really sealed the coffin on our lead ban.
When was the last time you ever saw a accuracy competition won by a barnes bullet??? You think they made good and formally clarified some of these misconceptions after getting calls and complaints from hunters and shooters??? I dont think so. Barnes is bad for hunters. I will not shoot barnes for any reason.

I hope I haven't misread your post, but I can assure you, bullet weight has nearly nothing NOTHING to do with accuracy, and as far as the humane factor... ask Montana residents how many deer & antelope fall to .223 & 22-250 with 55grn bullets.

I am in no way backing Barnes in this, but I do want to clarify a few things as well... Barnes .50 cal match bullet did hold a 1000yrd world record at one time (I don't know if they still do). Why don't you see other match records held by Barnes bullets?? Because they AREN'T match bullets, they are hunting bullets that tend to shoot with match accuracy (that and they are WAY too expensive to shoot at matches)

I completely understand your frustration, but don't lower yourself to that level by blasting them online with some phuey added. PLEASE blast away, they deserve it! But keep the facts straight.
