Ok, so I went on this site and they have it set up to use gseven's ballistic chart system. I entered all my data and everything comes up fine on the large chart but when I print it to the small chart to tape to my rifle it gets confusing. First on the top it says 5000/59 what does that mean. Second the chart across the top has w,d,d,d,d, colums. What do those stand for? Maybe I'm just missing something but any help would be great!

What is your zero? What is the farthest you expect to shoot?

I shoot a 6mm Norma BR. with 105 gr. Berger VLDs and my zero is 200 yds. At 300 yds. the 105s drop 8 inches below my zero and at 400 yds. they drop 21.5 inches below my zero. These were shot from "MY" rifle. These numbers did not come from any computer program the groups were measured on the targets I used. If I didn't get a custom turret I would have gone as far as I would shoot measuring the drops. This way I would have confidence in my drop chart.

The computer programs are only as good as the info that is put into it. Your actual ark of your bullet going down range shot from your rifle is the most critical info. All the other info needed to produce the ark or a custom turret with a computer program can be verriable. When I gave my drop measurements to the turret maker he adjusted the other info to match my ark of the bullet.

This is something I would consider when making your drop chart.

When I tested my new custom turret it was "dead nuts " accurate. And it is accurate all the way out to 900 yds. which I shot out in Wyoming.

PS: If you have filp up covers like Butler Creek on your scope you could tape your drop chart to the inside of the cover so when you open it it will be right in front of your eyes instead of on the side of your stock.

Most likely the W=Wind, and D=Drop.

Unless you are over forty like some of us.

In that case you want it on the outside of your front cover so that when you flip it open you can read it... .gun)
