I would like to shoot the 169.5 wildcats but I have a factory 1-10 twist. Will this bullets stabilize at longer ranges? I shoot Tikka T3 270wsm.

They shoot well in my 1:10 twist Tikka 270 but I'd rather have an 8 just so I can shoot the 195's in it too. But that's what the 270 Allen Magnum is for. :)

I'm also interested in the 169.5's and the 200 gr (7mm's) whats the status.
Availability ?

I bought some 165's from Matrix Ballistics so I hope they shoot in mine. I just got them today so I won't know for a bit if they shoot well or not in my 1:10 twist rifles.

Hopefully they do. The ballistics are looking pretty interesting on paper. .738 static BC?

I've read a bit about the Matrix bullets and their BC's seem a little optomistic but a bullet that is available with and optomistic BC is better than one that is not available at all.

Are the 169.5's going to be available anytime soon from Wildcat????

I'd be making a batch of the 270 169.5's right now but the last run of 200gr 7mm's weights were off so I'm starting over with those.

You can order these off-weight bullets for %30 off if you want. They are sorted into various weights +/- .2 grains and shoot really well in my 7mm AM.

You can order them here: wildcatbullets.myshopify.com/products/7mm-200gr-uld-rbbt-off-weight-100-count

If you want to get in line for the next batch of 7mm 200gr. or 270 169.5's go here:
https://wildcatbullets.myshopify.com/collections/all

I'll be adding photos, info and finishing up the website once I get caught up with the 7mm orders.

Sorry I can't get them out faster.

The BCs are not optimistic, they are "static" as noted. having said that, nothing would be right as seen in the thread "lets argue about BCs"
As meaningless as they may seem, it compares apples to apples (or bullets to bullets) on Matrix site only. :)
Bryans new book will have several Matrix bullets BCs with real world BCs..

1-10 twist will work fine with the WC 169.5s, Personaly I believe 9 twist is optimal for all the heavy weight .277s
and an 8 twist above 3000fps is just asking for CBF.
Thank You, Marshal

Marshal,
I just recieved some 168 and 190 Matrix VLD's for my 7. The bullets look great and service was fast, Thanks. I have a question about meplat diameter-could these be pionted with a widden die to pick up maybe another 8% B.C. ? the meplat is quite a bit larger than a berger VLD which is said to gain 2%.

Yes, re-pointing works very well. Thansk, Marshal

marshall,

Great to see you chiming in here. I appreciate the straigh forward response you sent in reply to my email.

CBF? Don't capish the acronym but take it for granted that it isn't good.:D

And me with an 8 twist - 3 groove bore shooting 170 class bullets @ 3300.

I would be very happy to be wrong about that. the good thing is barrel life will be short.
I'm shooting the 175s in an 8 twist 270wsm, accuracy is good, but the barrel picks up allot of copper (2900 fps) so I'm thinking 3300 fps might pick up "all" the copper.
