I recently got a new 338 built on an A bolt action. I have a Meopta Meostar R1 4-16x44 with 30mm tube to put on top. Question is what is the best mounting setup for this rifle for around $100. I dont want to skimp on the mounting with what Ive already spent on the setup, but also I dont want to pay $160- 200 for scope mounts either. Does anyone have experience with the Burris xtreme tactical rings? They look good and solid but Im thinking of steering clear of aluminum rings. Any help/ input is appreciated.

You can not go wrong with Talley lightweight Aluminum one piece ring and base. They are only around $48 bucks a set

Check out Seekins Precision :: Innovative Products for Precision Shooters . Great prices and great product and a member here. This aluminum is 7000 series and stronger than typical steel, pound for pound. No worries there. Not going to rust either and will lighten the gun a bit.

burris zee rings best bang for buck about 60-70$ you dont need a rail for longer ranger the come with shims to get more moa if you need it.

I apreciate the input. I think I may be going with the Talley one peice base and ring setup. From what Ive heard they are of good quality. On another note does anyone have/ used a Meopta scope? I had not heard much about them but came across a steal on one that I couldnt resist so I did what research I could and went back and picked it up. The clarity and brightness is impressive. Just hoping it will hold up to the abuse.
