Is 22x enough power on a Nightforce?

22X is plenty. I've been able to easily see a 2" circle at 700 yds with 22X.

Another thing about the NF scopes, if you want the reticle to work exactly like designed, I believe that the 32X scopes need to be on 22X for that to work out. Where the 22X ones don't need to be turned down for the moa or mil marks to be true moa or mil.

Yes. like the others have stated , you would have plenty with the 22 x. I took off my NXS 5.5x22 and put a 8x32 on for a while. But ended up going back to the 22X. I can split a 2 1/2" circle on my target at 1000 yards with 22X NXS. No problem.

I want to shoot at 600 yards and hit/see a 6" circle very easy. Is 22x enough power, or should I get the 32x?

Thanks

No problem... With my NF 5.5-22 I can easily zero a softball size target at 1K on the 5.5 power. I've proved this to myself with a range finder. That being said, in good conditions without mirage I've counted .25 cal holes on paper targets @ 427 yds with the 22 power.

I guess my eyes really suck. I have the 12-42. I had a 8.5-25 leupy and had a hard time seeing 2 foot target at 1k. I like the bigger scopes because you can always turn it down but with the 22 you can never go up. The real adv to the 5.5-22( 100+moa) in my opinion is the elevation, the 8-32(65moa) & & 12-42(45moa)

To confirm, I just lazed a house @ 913 yds And the reticle thickness at that distance on 5.5x is less than 6".. so yup, I could put my crosshairs on a softball size tartget.

Perhaps your eyes suck or perhaps your brain sucks. If you read the instructions and got the eyepiece focused properly and still have a problem then it is your eyes (just like my daughter whose prescription does not totally cure her vision problems). If you failed to read the instructions and focus the eyepiece then it is your brain does not have many functioning neurons.

Wow......harsh! My initial thought was the real problem...Leupold!

Sounds more like A**hole to me or just my eyes reading it wrong. I would imagine being a nightforce master dealer Ive set up a few in my day. Now I remember why I hate forums.
