buying a rifle

Hİ again guys. l cant sleep at night. l keep thinking of what rifle to buy. l want a factory rifle that will be good to shoot out to 1000 yards. l dont want something way over 1000$ but at the saim time l dont want guys over here that own SAUER s to call my gun a piece of crap. l was thinking of the tactical line of remington or the 111 long range hunter of savage. but the barel of the 111 looks skinny to me. so l will put it this way: a rifle that looks like the savage 12 BVSS but in 7mmrem mag-300WM or 8x68s. please help me.

sendero? l like the look of the SPS tactical with the 20 inch barrel but thats in bloody silly litle .308

I would look at the Remington 700 Sendero. You get a good action and stock and the barrel can be changed later if you want. Also there is a ton of aftermarket stuff for the 700. If it was me I would get a 300 win mag or a 300 ultra mag. That is just my opinion. Its your money buy what you like.

As far as anybody calling your rifle a piece of crap. I judge rifles by the size of the group not how much they costs.

+1 for the Sendero. I just picked one up and this gun is amazing. Now I've never owned a Savage so I can't tell you one way or another on the choices you mentioned, but the Sendero is top notch for the price. You can find used ones in the 8-900 range either here, or sometimes on snipershide.com. Good luck in your research and let us know what you decide.

You mentioned savage as a canidate. Go and check out the Model 12 Long Range Precision in one of 3 calibers (243, 260, or 6.5 Creedmoor). As soon as I saw it I had to have it, just ordered it Friday in 260! I know the site says around $1100, but my shop sold it to me for $885. Talk about a deal for a rifle designed for 1000 yds with features from the factory that would make custom rifles take a double take on. Notice that the barrel is 1 in 8", meaning it will stabilize the heavy for caliber bullets (139 Gr Lapua scenar's) with no problem, increasing it's chance at 1k. I was sold...

the savage or the tikka t3 both are great guns for factory. i know a guy that shots the t3 in 7mmsm that shoots out to 800yard no prob with small groups.the one thing about the savage though is you can easily upgrade the barrel & then they will shoot with some of the best custom guns out there for less than half the price.oh the savage seems to work allot better with a good beading job.gun)

Do you guys have gun shows in Turkey? Can you freely buy/sell/trade firearms?

You may be able to find a good rifle that's slightly used.

All the ones previously mentioned are fine as well as many others such as Steyr, Winchester, Voere (Voehrenbach). Many others have potential to meet your requirements as well. But, it may come down to what's available to you and at what price.

Until you start reloading, you're going to have limitted success at really long range.

Get a good shooter, good ammo, and put in the practice. They won't call it crap when you print little tiny groups out farther than they can shoot.

Go ahead, get the Sendero and be done with it. 9 out of 10 are real shooters and they have a heavy 26" barrel. But they cost over $1000 here. The Sub MOA Vanguard is factory shot to .75" or less and a little cheaper but have the 24" sporter contour.

Both are good rounds. The 300 WM will reach a little farther with a little more thump.
