Hey everyone,

I live in northern california and I was wondering if anyone had any favorite areas to hunt them. I usually don't hunt small game much, but I have a new .22 that I really want to get out in the field a little bit.

I mainly see jackrabbits in the sagebrush. Look for some ears sticking up over the sagebrush.

Here in Montana, I would say my prairie dog to jackrabbit kill ratio is something like 300:1.

Mind you, we have prairie dog towns that stretch out for 2 miles, so it is a target rich environment as far as prairie dogs go.

A little off topic, but do those prairie dogs carry plague where you are? I had read they do in places.
