Big Muley Hunt Suggestions??

I , my son and a couple friends are looking for a place to hunt some good sized Muleys this fall. Would gladly pay a treaspass fee. Would anyone be kind enough to point us in the right direction? We are respectful to others and private property and are GPS equiped to keep us where we are supposeto be. Would also have no problem with public ground. Wy, ID, CO. SD, ND, ??

Yes, I do. But also like to go to other states for an outing and camp for a week. I usually either do an out of state antelope or Muley hunt each year.

Broz---You might take a look at all the public land that is available in the BigHorn Mountains of Wyoming just below the Montana border. Region R is on the west side and there is a lot of public land on the west side of Region Y along the east side of the mountains. Y is a 100% draw and R might take a PP, but you could try putting R as your first choice because it's closer to you and Y as your second choice. You would be guaranteed to go on a hunt in some great country one way or the other.

Thank you Topgun, We hunted region R in WY last year. West of Buffalo over the pass. I have never seen so many 4 wheelers and trucks in my life. I never once sat for 30 minutes with out someone driving by. A guy on foot has a hard time out running them. I love to hunt Wy. and have for years but I didnt realize they let you drive in most all areas. So we were hoping to find a new spot. I am not apposed to Wy regon R or Y, but I would like to buy some access to keep away from traffic or find a more secluded spot.

I was referring more to unit 53 up near the Montana line in R, which is more BLM and canyon country that probably won't have quad access like the area you are talking about. I will not hunt in an area where quads are allowed because it takes all the fun out of hunting with all the idiots that are running around all day on them where they are allowed and even in some areas where they aren't!!! That's why God gave us legs and two feet, LOL!!!

I am going up to that area 53 this fall. We are packing in 5-6 miles and hunting from there for 9 days. I have heard that the country is really rugged and not for the faint of heart but will produce if you work for it. That is the whole reason we chose that unit. I also heard that if your just trying to do day hunts it's not for you either do the amount of area and really hard to get into unless you plan on packing. I spoke to a warden the other day and basically one road to get a person into that area and it goes thru up high so if there is much for snow forget about it! We are willing to pack anywhere and that is our whole goal so hopefully that is enuf to get us away from others.
