Best 7mm bullet for coyotes

Using Hornady online ballistics Calculator. The Hornady 139 gr SST at 3300 is flatter shooting. I have the 168 Berger VLDs . I wonder they'll even open up on a coyote's little body.

Back in the day 'bout late 70' my buddy had a factory Rem 700 7mm Mag hitting 8 out of 10 rockchucks @ 500 yards or so using Sierra 120 gr bullets. That was the one day I remember. I couldn't touch 'em beyond 420 with my 270 cal 90gr hollow points.

I'm bettin the 168 berger will do in a yote.

Just finished up a shooting /testing session with Hornady 139gr sst in front of 67.5grs-70grs of Re#19. 69grs produced 3300 fps out of a 7mmWSM 26" Brux bbl. That will be tomorrows load for coyotes.

for my rem 700 - 139 horn btsp 69.6 H-4831; 140 berger or accubond 69 H-4831. 168 berger various powders

For fast and flat I like the 120 grain ballistic tip.

It is a real hummer and has a thicker jacket than the 140s.

It is a very accurate bullet and performs well at 500 and 600 yards and at 7mmRem Mag
velocities it will do well at 700 and 800yards.

Years ago Nosler had complaints from the varmint guys and so they thickened up the jackets
and improved its performance.(The varmint guys loved it).

I have used it between 500 and 700 yards with 100% success.

It appears that age is a bit of a factor regarding respect for the 120.

Thanks for continuing the knowledge.
