need adivce on barrel and ammo for 7RUM

New here your advice would be very helpful in getting started.

Gun is a Rem 700 7RUM. I would like to put a bbl on it- length,twist ,and brand??? what would you do. Im in the dark with a load as well. what bbl load combo works best for you?

because they don't plan on carrying it. If you want a hunting rifle that you carry around, 26" is about max.

True and probably won't be easy trying to maneuver it in a box blind if i whitetail hunt with it.
