I'd like to get an 8 lb cannister of one powder to shoot in my 300 RUM with 210 gr VLD's and also my 7mm RUM with 168 gr VLD's. It looks like Retumbo would be the best as far as burning rate and velocity but I don't know how temp sensitive this powder is. Any input or suggestions on other powders?

I've tried the search function and either I don't know what I'm doing or the search function stinks.

I'd guess Retumbo as well among the Hodgdon Extreme powders anyway. I shooting 94 grains and change for the 210 and it seems many guys are finding good accuracy and velocity somewhere close to that from several previous posts here.

Imr 4831 would be the hottest i'd use in either, RE22 and 25 are good, retumbo, H870, N165, 7828ssc, H1000. I usually see that the best results are had with RE25, N165, and retumbo as far as speed and accuracy.

Retumbo is best out of my 300 RUM with the 210 Bergers. It is a Hodgen Extreme powder and is not temperature sensitive.

I dont own a 7RUM but I load for several regular 7RM, 2 of which are mine. I use the retumbo in all of them because of the velocity and accuracy that I get with it. I also load for a 300WM and a 300RUM both of those burn retumbo for the same reasons. My RUM is about 75 to 125 fps faster than the other powders that I tried. Never shot anything else threw my 7RM but the velocities are around 150 fps faster than the book claims it will go.

I try to stay with Federal 215s. Thats what I did my load developement with and I wont change.

Thanks, i was thinking of giving them a try, i did not do much load development with this gun a few years back and the load i use now was the second one i tried. Not too bad. Could be better though. I really think this gun could get down under .3 moa if i put the time in. Right now it is about .5 and has not been bedded or anything like that. Just a factory Sendero

I also used strictly Fed 215s in my 7RM and 300 RUM. Worked so well first time around never even crossed my mind to wanna mess with primers...

However, I do use CCI 250s in my EDGE since that seemed to be what everyone else was using and was part of Shawns standard load in the 338 EDGE. No problems with them and I can get them locally.

I havne't been able to find Federal primers locally at a decent price for bout 3-4 years now, bout to run out of my stash of them, I know I have less then 1000 each of the 210s and 215s.

thank you guys very much, as I was able to find 4 lbs of powder, thanks to Veteran, and a few others, that I got the info just a little late.

Now I need to find the primers, I know there are others out there, but I have a group of friends that have very good results with, 215 large magnum rifle primers federal
I have found brass but WOW is that expensive think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and buy 1000, because at 25 shells it works out to almost 4 bucks a shot.... that ant going to work
anyone knows of some Brass = Nosler or Norma 300 ultra mag. I would like to buy 100 to 200 of them
