My Son's 2010 Pronghorn

[Long Time Long Ranger]

I never got around to getting my son's pronghorn on here from this year. He anchored him in his tracks at 200 yards with his 257 Weatherby MK 5 shooting 100 grain ttsx bullets at 3760 fps. The buck dropped instantly from the shot faster than I could follow with the binocs. He is a nice 14 1/2" buck scoring in the high 70's. Good mass and prongs.

Recover a Barnes bullet? C'mon man! I think I saw it kick up dust about a 1000 yards out there between two more antelope. Seriously, I wish I could recover one sometime to see if they look like they are suppose to. The animals insides are always mush so I assume they are doing there job.

I have to ask regarding the photo - is that the spot where the Antelope fell?
The reason I ask is because it seems awfully "woodsy" or "brushy" there to be Antelope habitat?
Was that Antelope harvested in Wyoming?

About 15 years ago, I recovered a 115 gr Barnes X bullet from a Mule Deer that I shot with a 25-06. It had a portion of one petal missing. Other than that, it looked just like the pictures. The bullet entered behind the right front leg and I found it underneath the skin on the left side of the neck a few inches behind the head. The deer never moved after it was hit.

VarmintGuy, The picture was taken in some sagebrush beside my house. He shot him about five minutes down the road. Yes, we are in Wyoming and have antelope running all over the place just out of town. Heck, in town sometimes. Finding a good one is the problem. I think my son got a good one after we picked over a few. He was happy anyway and that is all that matters to me. I love to hunt antelope, plenty of them to keep everybody excited.
