The Best Rangefinder ANYWHERE

Ive heard that GSeven, Huskemaw, and your neibor all have a great rangefinger coming out. Someday
I've learned throught experience that the biggest hole in my long range capabilities are the wind, and getting a precise range on animals that won't stand next to anything reflective for my Leica to range accurately.
Does anyone KNOW of a better mousetrap?
I've looked at all the likely suspects, Leica, Zeiss, etc.

Years ago I was at R W Harts and Bob showed me a "real" laser rangefinder that wasn't eye safe. I took a quick range on a mountain side and it read over 15,000 meters. To this day I don't know the make of it, but then again if you get caught with one of those may may not get a chance to use it.
So with that being said, if you can't get a black market rangefinder, I'd imagine your stuck with a Swaro or Leica

It has been my experience that the PLRF 10 is the best range finder you can get that is Class 1. That being said they are pricey but an incredible piece of work. There are other "good" ones out there but I feel that the PLRF 10 is the best. The PLRF 10 is imported by Vetronix. Just my $.02

Bunch of surplus Russian military laser rangefinders (non eyesafe) Class 4 were imported into Canada in the late 80's and 90's and illegally imported into the US. They were selling for as much as $5000

They will accurately range 20,000 meters but are non eyesafe, had issues with leakage and illegal as hell in the US.

You can legally own a Class 1, 2 or 3A. The Class 3B and 4 are "military only" and LE cannot even have them. Cannot ever be legally sold as surplus either.

FYI they watch this website and others for people having them and will visit you and confiscate them.

Long story about me getting a visit by Fed agents because a mftrs rep at a military expo heard me talking about one on the internet years ago and reported it.

I have owned 5 Swaros, a newcon, 4 Leica's and have used several others. I was never happy until I got my Vectronix PLRF 10. I have ranged Elk at 2500 plus yards and a shot with the RF just over his back read 7 yards farther into te hillside. My 20" steel target at a mile, no problem, antelope at 1500 plus in bright sun just lay the PLRF 10 on sand bags and go at it, the same with a coyote in flat wheat stubble. When you get way out there the range is very important, every yards counts, and with the smallest beam divergence I have seen the PLRF10 really shines.

Broz, I need a new one. How much will it cost me. I lost a good animal this year at what I thought was about 1150 yards but my Lieca wouldn't talk to me. Had to pass on the shot I could have made. Tell me where i can get one and the cost.

Ok Shawn and Broz I went to the PLRF10 site and I see no price or even how a hick like me can purchase one of these. Can one of you guys fill in the blanks for us on the specifics please. I did email them but you never know what kind of response if any you will get from a company.

When I called and tried to buy one a few months ago they said they would not sell to a PLRF 10 to a private citizen, Ive been looking for a used one ever since - with no luck.

I was talking to Mike Nolan of Vectronix and he quoted me $4100 or so with a substantial wait. This was a while ago so I don't know about the price for sure. He didn't indicate to me there was a problem selling to me. In the mean time I was lucky enough to stumble into a used one and quickly snatched it up. They are expensive, but worth every bit as much as a good rifle which is in my opinion handicapped with out a good RF.
