470 Capstick

I did some work on a 470 Capstick for Steve today and got a chance to shoot it here are the results

The capstick has a ghost shoulder you cant see or feel it

The stock is for a XP-100 for target use maid from aluminum by Fuzz

How would I contact "Fuzz"? I have a XP build in the works. I am searching cool rear grip stocks. I recall pics of your 330 Dakota with a more conventional looking wood stock. Looked like the grip was longer vertically than some that I have seen. Thanks.

I decided to make a aluminum hunting stock for the Capstick I just got done with the machining and put the barrels action in to see how it is going to look. I am planning to paint the stock after I bed the action hare are some pics

That's pretty cool! Is that a Hornady XTP shown in the loaded round?

it is a 400g XTP

I would love to see how well the XTP holds up at the speeds this gun will move them. This gun must move a 400gr bullet well over 2000fps. Do you have any velocities yet? I just imagine that XTP acting like a ballistic tip at those speeds. It sounds awesome!

The load I am shooting is very light 400 grain XTP 85.0 4895 2275 fps
I have shot the 500g bullets at 2350 fps this is a heavy load so I think the Capstick with the 400g bullets could reach 2600 fps with a heavy load. I will take a short video next week of the Capstick in action.

That almost looks like the perfect round for hunting deer in lower Michigan with a pistol

That is what we are thinking I have shot it out to 300 yards it took 7 MOA from a 100 yard 0 and ran the ballistics looks like 500 yards is where the 400g bullet will go subsonic and at 500 yards it will take 19.8 MOA to make the trip and will have 1099 foot pounds of energy at 500 yards.
