yes

My question is, can a remington 770 action be used instead of a 700 action as a base for a semi custom rifle. Are they equaly made or made differently. I guess I want to know if all the after market parts ie: barrles, stocks that fit the 700 fit the 770 or is it a waste of time. I was wondering because I never heard of anyone using the remington 770 action or any one list it as a start of a project. Thank You for your time Chris

No, the 770 is a first rate piece of junk to the highest order.

Just go the 700 route and you will be much further ahead.

Trust me.

They should have NEVER even come out with this rifle or the 710 for that matter
