All I want for Christmas is a Concentricity gauge!!!!! WHich one should i get from Santa a Hornady or Sinclair? Thanks for any input

I've used the Sinclair for the past 12 plus years. An excellent piece of precision equipment & I've found Sincair repair or replacement policy on there items to be exceptional.

I use the Sinclair and like it. I have never use the Hornady. What I like about Sinclair products, if you have a question there is someone available to answer your questions.

Still using the cheap one...RCBS CaseMaster.
I feel as long as the dial indicator is correct, any gauge is better then no gauge. Just wish the gauge had a way of correcting the run-out on the unit.

Tip:
When I seat the projectile, I use quarter turns and run the projectile back into the die(four step process). Noticed this reduces the run-out on most loaded rounds to right around 0.0003" to 0.0004"! Good enough for what I can get out of my rifles....

I know it cost more but what do you all think of the NECO gage?

I have both the Sinclair and NECO gages, and there are some differences. Both run straight concentricity checks on cases and loaded ammo, but the NECO will also sort out cases for wall concentricity using a chord anvil. Used it a few times (the chord anvil feature), haven't found it to be that useful for most of my shooting, but to each his own. I'd recommend the Sinclair. It's less expensive, and IMHO, a better value for your money.

I would buy neither one! Sinclair sells the Neco gauge, and this is the best I've seen commercially. You also need a good dial indicator (wand type of course). At least buy a Gem (brand name) in .001" readings. I use an Interrapid, but they're pretty expensive (.0005"). The Brown & Sharpe Best Test is also pretty good too. You really don't need a .0001" indicator for a case gauge, and avoid the more common gear & rack ones due to error built in them.

I called Sinclair and talked to the, more likely than not, one person there that liked the NECO better than the others sooooo I was going to order the NECO from them. Yup, you guessed it. Out of stock on back order. Then I thought ah hell why not call the guy who makes them direct and order it. Sure enough they have them in stock and while I was on the phone with him I asked about "Quickload" and now I have both coming. Merry Xmas to me from me. Now my wife thinks it ok for her to go spend about the same on God knows what so it can be merry xmas to her from her. lol Oh well, atleast I'm getting what I want so who cares right.... :D

Thanks for the input guys B23 thats funny aren't you glad Christmas only comes once a yr. Ha !!!!!

OK, I guess I'm going to be the only one on here that admits I bought the Hornady! I'm also lucky enough to be blissfully ignorant and not know the difference between a good one and a bad one, so I'm happy with it. I've actually used it a lot and have no problems with it, but again, I don't really know the difference. I plan to do some work this spring and see if that bullet straightener thingy really makes a difference, and if that difference is good or bad.

Christmas is great, especially when you have young kids but my poor ole checking account realllllllllly hates Christmas. Alot!!!

I ended up getting the Sinclair for a Christmas gift to myself, but I almost opted for the Bruno version after reading an article doneon 6mmbr site.

I will liley end up with Neco also so I can set up the tools for different purposes and leave them for the most part set up.

I do not want to screw around with set up too much and I like gadgets too much:)

your gonna really like that gauge once you learn the quirks of it. It does just about everything very well. You'll need a good indicator if it dosn't come with one. Lastly; I highly recommend you head over to Lowes or Menards and buy yourself a 12" square piece of granit tile about a half inch thick (polished marble will work OK, but the granit is better) to set it on.
