Hi,

just decided to join after i heard a few others on the one forum i use talk about here so decided to have a look and join up.

I live in Hereford which is in England, some of you may be familiar with it?

Had my Firearms nearly 2 years now, started of with a Tikka M595 in 223, then had it customised and not long ago now i chopped that in now for my Remmy 260AI and just getting started with that.

Starting a bit of long range shooting on vermin and steel gongs, shot out to 480yds so far on steel plate and furthest kill on live quarry just under 400yds. its a start and want to push it out further.

Looking to see what i can learn of some of you guys and contribute what i can where i can

atb Richard

welcome on board !

a good place for long range not to far from you would be WMS steel safari run by andrew venables plenty of targets and a great enviroment to chuck some lead about , safely of course!

do you mean you have a 260rem in an accuracy int stock or are you shooting a 260 ackley improved? if the former then i have the same and love it , if the latter then what sort of performace are you getting ? is it a great improvement over the standard 260rem?

I'm getting 2850 fps with the 140 amax and vit N560 .

you should get plenty of help here there a pretty friendly bunch!

Russ, also uk

Hi Russ,

Its a 260 Akley Improved i'm shooting, i am running 95gr Vmax and 140 Berger T both with R17. Just finished the fireforming and off to test the 260ai rounds tomorrow at Minsterly.

Where abouts you from, are you on any of the Uk forums, who built your rifle.?

Mine was built by Chris of UK GUNWORKS

Main forum i go on is UK Long Range - Getting away out there....

will be going to WMS with some mates off the forum sometime in the new year, most the time we just shoot out as far as we can on our own land for free :)

I considered the ai but decided that the gains wern't worth the extra effort ? what sort of velocitys are you getting with the 140's ? maybe i was wrong!

i have to keep re registering on uk long range , probably because i don't use it that much but it is a bit of a fag. same user name.

i'm near newmarket , cambs

I use riflecraft for all my custom rifles, currently a 260 a 308 and a 300rum , with plans to build a 223 on a sako A1 action with a mcmillan stock in the very near future.

i'd love to have enough land near me to shoot out to extended range but unfortunatly it's a bit crowded round here but i do have a 1200yd range about 20 mins away and i'm on the doorstep of thetford battle area with all it's ranges not to mention a 100m underground range about 15 mins away so i suppose i'm not that hard done by?

my 260 is very similar to yours when i have it in the mcmillan stock for hill stalking apart from a badger ordnace mag conversion and a wildcat 4 mod (your mod looks cool who's is it?) but it wears a folding accuracy stock most the time for range work and lowland stalking.
