I'm looking at doing some minor mods to my Savage 10FP, one being a stock. Do you think it would be better to put an HS Precision tactical on it or pillar and epoxy bed the factory stock. Lets hear some opinions.

The stock you have already has pilars. It may help to be bedded.

Is yours center or staggerfeed? You'll need to know before you start shopping for a new stock.

There are a bunch of good stocks out there cheaper than the HS.

Choate Tactical, Stockade, Stocky's Bobby Hart laminate, Bell and Carlson Medalist

I really like my Savage in a Stockade Pdog.

geargrinder and I seem to agree on a lot of things, including this. You can find deals on HS stocks though and they're solid.

It is a centerfeed DBM. I looked at lots of other stocks including the ones you mentioned. I don't like the foreend on the Bell & Carlson and didn't want a laminate so that left Stockys out. After talking to the guys at Stockade it was going to be around $600 for thier stock because of the DBM. That only leaves the Choate and although I did like it I just prefered the HS Precision better. I can get the HS for $360 so thats not to bad.
