Just picked up a new Nitrex TR Two 3-15x50mm with the EBX reticle. It comes with a ballistic chart but the round I'm shooting is not listed (257 WBY) The directions also do not tell you what power to set the scope at when using the EBX reticle, does changing the magnification affect the the distance the stadia lines are graduated for? Like when you change the power on a Nikon it affects the distances the stadia lines are graduated for, IE at (200yrd zero) 3x the second stadia line is 502yrds at 9x the same second stadia line is 319yrds.

Was wondering if anyone has been using the Nitrex/Weaver scopes is familiar with the EBX reticle as to how exactly its calibrated......

Thanks!

Nitrex doesn't provide any really useful information...even if they did it wouldn't be accurate for different loads and bullets anyway, so you will have to figure it out yourself.

Set up a yardstick or make up some type of graphic target on graph paper at 100 yards and take notes of your reticle subtensions.

As long as it is at least 36" tall and marked off in inches you will be able to figure out the spacing.

The spacing will vary at different powers, so make notes of those variations as well.

You will also need to know the true muzzle velocity of your load.

Once you know these details you can compare it to a trajectory chart from JBM Ballistics and create your range card.

I emailed them asking a while back and they sent me a file. According to their specs when set to 15X the lines are down:

BDC-1 2.257 MOA
BDC-2 4.935
BDC-3 7.980
BDC-4 14.324 (Top of Post)

Of course I always recommend measuring as well to be sure. I can send you the file if you like.

I've got a question for you Nitrex guys.
Are the turrets similar to a target/tactical knob or a regular hunting type where you don't dial in the elevation.
It's really hard to tell on any product descriptions.

They are gradated "pull up target knobs" They lock in place when you push them down nice feature you don't have to worry about your knobs getting bumped off zero.... They are also resettable to zero once you get sighted in, so you can dial for windage and elevation...
