TSX reloading issue

Is anyone else having troubles loading Barnes TSX bullets? As I am setting them, they are curling the neck of the case. It is getting caught in the ridges and is catching and rolling the casing. They are 30 cal bullets into Winchester brass. I even tried setting them into nickel cases and that did not stop it.

you need to chamfer the inside of the case neck with a VLD chamfer tool . Jim

What sizer die do you use? What is the inside diameter of the case neck once the brass is sized? I've always had some copper shave off when seating these bullets but it would come off easily with a soft brush.

The only time I had a problem seating a tsx bullet was when I first stopped using the expander in my Redding sizer die. I didn't realize how tight the neck portion was squeezing the case. I had the same outcome you did when trying to seat that first bullet. That's when I called Redding and they told me if I planned on not using the expander, then I needed to have the neck portion of the die honed (opened up a few thousandths) to meet my needs with the brass I use. I did that. Problem solved.

I had the same issue..... once. Chamfer those babies!

TSX's do it and the old XLC coated bullets were bad too for stipping the coating off. I add one more step after I have chamfered the inside of the necks and that is taking a new drift punch and using it to polish the newly cut edge of the cases. This most likely adds a miniscule of flare to the necks as well and makes it easier to get the bullets started for me.

I load 15 different guns with TSX"s, no problems. I do chamfer inside and out.
