Brux Barrels

I had the same question and asked it in one of the members firearm photos threads. They look AWESOME! and I didnt get even one negitave feedback answer. ***I have no personal experience with them yet,------- but I plan to ater recieving a review like that form the caliber of serious shooters here on L/R/H.*****
They sound and look spectacular

Any manufacturer can make a good barrel. But also any manufacturer can make a bad one. Most custom barrels are pretty darn good. A few will out shine others even from the same manufacturer. I can honestly say I have only had one bad one. It was not terrible, just not up to the standards I wanted for this particular rifle. But I have a barrel from the same manufacturer that was bought at the same time and it will shoot into a small ragged hole at 200 yards. All that said, my favorites are Broughton and Hart, but I have a Lilja and a Krieger that is darn good too.

If they had what I needed I would have no reservations on buying a Brux.

Kirby Allen built me 2 rifles in 260 rem both had the same chamber same length just 2 diffrent barrels one Lilja the other Brux.

The brux was about 50 fps faster with the same load than the lilja. It shipped faster and when it got there it was the correct profile. The Lilja was not. The Brux cost less.

Just my experence

I've seen a lot of builds lately with a Brux tubes, I'm giving them a try! I sent out a half a dozen e-mails and Brux is the only one that even replied and they did it quick and answered all my questions and helped me head in right direction.

I have built a lot of rifles using Brux and every one of them will EASILY shoot sub 1/2 MOA groups with very, very little coppering.

And those guys are so nice to work with. :)

I've been thinking about ordering a Brux barrel in .223 bore with a 1:12 twist. The chamber will be my own .222 "in between" round. The shoulder angle is 35 degrees with a .244 neck diameter. The barrel will finish out at 22.5" long with a #7 contour that is bead blasted. I'm also looking a second barrel in a 1" strait tube that's gonna finish out at 24" in length. The chamber will be 6mm/250AI. The neck will b a .264, and be throated for Berger 88's and animals like that

Jim See at www.centershotrifles.com recommended a Brux on my 338 Edge he built for me. I couldn't be happier! It was shooting sub 1/2 moa from the first day I got and continues to perform. I think the fluted blanks are about $380. Jim would be a great guy to answer any questions. I think he is "coyboy" on the site. Thanks and good luck.

What is the point of the flutes ? Yes they look cool. But just how much weight is subtracted ? Does it really have an effect on barrel heat ?

My 338 Edge AI I bought from a member on the site is wearing a brux and
this is a pic he sent me just before I bought it. It was shot at 104 yds while
fire forming, shot from a bi pod and rear bag. The shot on the left is the fouling shot and the next three are the ragged hole on the right. Ever since Ive owned
the rifle I have only shot under 1000 yards twice first time at 100 to sight in and the second was a three shot group at 400 that was under an inch. Most of my shooting is past 1000 and when conditions are ideal it will group half MOA all day at those ranges. So I am very pleased with this barrel.

I have Hart, Douglas, Shilen and Pac-Nor also

They all shoot good

Once you get into the good aftermarket barrels, the gunsmith is more important than the barrel manufacturer..................IMO
