I'm about to start loading for my 7mm Rem. mag. What I need to know is since I will be purchasing a set of bushing dies, what is the most common sized bushing used? I have never fired the rifle, therefore I have no cases to measure for myself. I figured you guys could save me alot of footwork. I'm after about .001 or .002 in neck tension. But will likely purchase several sizes. Thanks guys..

Why don't you start by measuring a factory round (OD at the neck) and start with that bushing.

Thats easy, because I dont have any, and don't really plan to purchase any since I'm an avid reloader..

Dont take that the wrong way, not trying to be a smart a@3 or anything.

Thanks guys! That will get me started on the right foot...

Are any of you using H-1000? I have quite a bit on hand so I figured I would start there with either a 168gr. Berger or maybe a 160gr. Accubond.

I'd suggest you're avid at reloading -backwards, except you had to ask us how to do that...
You need to measure brass in-hand, so you can learn what bushing is needed.

Ok, its like this. I know how to measure brass to determine bushing size. Problem is, I haven't purchased any brass or factory ammo yet. I've never chambered a round in the rifle.

I wanted to place an order to get all the stuff I needed at one time.

Dies.
Bushings. (A couple of sizes)
Brass.
Bullets.
Precision Mics.
Case holder for my Wilson Trimmer.

I didnt to order all of the above except for the bushings. I hate to wait for one order to arrive, only to place another after measuring the brass. Been down that road before. Thats why I was hoping you guys could shed some light.

Where I live, you can't just run to the sporting goods store and expect to pick up whatever size bushings you would like.

"...what is the most common sized bushing used?"

You are asking more than we can possibly deliver. Not only is that information not available to us, it wouldn't mean a thing to you if we did. All that will matter to YOU is how thick the necks in the cases you get will be. And we don't know that either.

I use Lee Collet Neck sizers for factory chambers and unturned brass and don't bother with bushings of any size.

Boomtube,

I've already stated twice that I will be purchasing several different sizes. Simply for that reason.

Thanks to Broz and coyotezapper. You guys gave me the answer I was looking for.

I use H 1000 & 160 Gr Accubond. Very accurate load, in my 7MM Rem Mag.
