I have the same rifle it shoots great and it will kill anything walking or crawling with in range.

I have a Marlin 1895G customized be Wild West Guns out of Alaska. Of the guns I own it is my favorite. Its chambered in 45-70 and shoots the .457 Wild West Magnum as well. Shoots cloverleafs at 100 yards. Great mountain gun as it only weighs around 7 lbs. Great port job makes shooting it comfortable. You do feel the 457s though, 350 grains at 2200 fps. Loads of fun.

Anyway who ever gets this gun should have a fun gun to shoot. 45-70 is a great round and makes a hell of a closer range thumper.

This really is an awesome rifle, I just can't see hunting southeast deer with this. I bought it to hunt elk and moose around here in Montana.

I added a rubber stock cushion which brings the kick down to that of an 30-06 and with the ladder site, Leverrevolution ammo you can stretch the range to 300+ meters easy.
