Has anyone tried the Pentax gameseeker scopes? I was looking at the 3-15x50mm and the 4-16x50mm. Was just trying to find a relatively decent scope for sub $200.00 any other recommendations would be gladly accepted...

Thanks!

Can't recall the specific specs on the glass, but think it is a 4-12x50mm. I got it as a package deal with some binoculars. I have it on my .22 magnum. For it's purpose, it works good, but the optic's clarity isn't as clear as others. You get what you pay for and that's evident with the Gameseeker series... in my opinion, from what I see when I look through the glass.

I purchased two of them as Demo units from CameraLandNY. Allegedly they are made in the same place as the Burris Fullfield II in the Philippines and they just carry different labels. My guess is that that's not far off. Not bad at all, but I only have them mounted on rifles that I would only use for short distance local hunts.

I know exactly what you mean, not all of us cannot afford the mid to high end scopes. As most budget scopes, they are outsourced somewhere in Asia to reduce cost and make it more affordable. They claim of having the same US quality assurance. I have a friend that buys nothing but Nikons (all made in the Philippines) and he is very happy with all of them.

It has been a few years ago but the Pentax I looked through was very good but does not have the eye relief I needed, IIRC it was 3", I'd like to keep mine at 3.5"

Another scope to consider is the Redfield Revolution line by Leupold. Below is a pix when I compared it with a Nikon.

Good luck!

I have 3 of them on different rimfires and IMO they make for a pretty decent inexpensive rimfire scope but I'm not sure I would use one on much more than that.

In the 3 that I have the optics were not bad, especially when I consider what they cost, but the tracking is about what you would expect from a less expensive scope.
