Superformance powder for reloaders

OK, after reading that link, Im only gonna allow myself to get partially excited......SCREW THAT...................WWWWOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!Hot dang! Thats awesome!! The wheels are spinning in my head already....I wonder how hard it'll be to get our hands on in January. Im figureing virtually impossible, but I am SOOOO gonna try. This also gives me a reason to buy 160gr lever revolution bullets, and some 200gr lever rev 338 pills to try. Im also guessing the Superformance powder is gonna help get my velocities closer to published data on my stubby 24''barreled Model-70 Winchester, 300wby. WAY TOO COOL! Thanks for posting!!!

I'm with winmag on this one!!!

Hey, if they can "blend" powders, why can't I?:D

Anyone know if RL-50 is stick or ball?
Now Im scared! Tell me your not gonna use this stuff with a drop tube and IWK's Roy...................
I can see it now....
''Stand back boy's Im gonna shoot.......'' Ill cringe and duck from here k Roy:D

Roy.

My guess is that it is not a blend as much as just a different burn rate with a retardant
coating to control the peak pressure while producing more volume of gasses. (A longer
pressure curve).

Blending would be just as risky for them maybe even more so because of the number of
inexperienced shooters and the weapons used.

Just a guess.

J E, a darn good guess........

And nope, I'm not into blendin'. Over the years I've have to toss at least a couple of cans in the fire place.:)

How similar is it to the Vihatavouri(?) 5-- series powders? They are suppose to give higher velocity at lower pressure. I think they are a double base powder, but also heard they are harder on the barrel.

Info from lapua
N500 series

The N500 series powders are impregnated extruded rifle powders with Nitroglycerol added as extra energy component. If higher loading densities and more energy are needed, N500 series powders are competent alternatives for the N100 series powders. N500 series High Energy powders are available in five different burning rates

It is sounding like 2 new powders, not lines of powder. I'm not very up to date with the superformance ammo. What is the burn rate of the powder? What cartridges will it be useable in?
