OK, so I adjusted my Sendero's trigger exactly as per these instructions (which match other ones I've found):

Remington Trigger Adjustments

Unfortunately, it did not work. After adjusting it (which seemed to work well) it now releases/fires every time I close the bolt. The only way I can keep it from doing this is by engaging the safety, and then whenever I disengage the safety, the pins still drops. I've tried moving each of the 3 screws independently, together, you name it and nothing changes it. It seems like something inside the trigger is in the wrong position, as I can hear a small "rattle" now inside the trigger that was not there before. What could have fallen out of place?

If anyone has suggestions (other than replacing with a Timney - I'd like to see if this one will work first) I'd appreciate them.

Oh, and I've worked on triggers on several of my rifles and shotguns previously, having taken them apart and adjusted them. So, I'm not really a newbie at it. If I can disassemble and reassemble my Ruger Mk II pistol, much less a Quadrajet, I should be able to do this. :D

If you had the trigger completely off you may have dropped the lift spring on top. If not it soulds like the sear is not adjusted deep enough to me.

Nope, left it on the rifle.
I've tried adjusting the sear deeper, and it just stops. It does not seem like the adjustment for the sear goes in quite as far as it did originally, though.

Too bad Bighorn doesn't work on these. :D

Try pulling all the screws out, and checking if you see anything glaringly out of place. My brother backed out the trigger adjustment screw too far on his and ended up destroying the trigger pull and the sear return spring. I had to get parts from a gunsmith friend and replace some stuff in order to get it to work.

If the only thing you adjusted were the three screws, it should be not too dificult to fix... but then I've heard that before too lol... If not, any good gunsmith worth his salt should be able to re-set up a Remmy 700 trigger lol, if it comes to that...

Good luck.

Unfortunately there are no gunsmiths here in town, so it's up to me to figure this out.

And, to drive an hour to the nearest one and then pay him... well, it wouldn't cost much more just to buy a Timney and get it over with. :D

However, I should be able to get this fixed. I think.

So I went to work on this again today, and after adjusting the 3 screws and analyzing the trigger many times, I decided to remove the safety to get a better look at the trigger. And, this is what I found:

I replaced the safety, but of course the trigger still does not work given the broken piece.

Is there anyone out there who can fix Remington trigger?
Or am I better off at this point swapping it out?

Thanks.
