Well i went out yesterday with the new .308 and thought i would try to get its first kills. Well i was walking around a bean field and seen one running towards his hole so i dropped down and pulled out my sling sticks and set up and waited for him to come back out. Well after about 20 minutes and him being a no show i stood up to look over the rest of the bean field. Well not 50 yards away i had one walking around eating. I rested my gun on the sling sticks and squeezed the trigger. 1 dead groundhog. As i went over and was looking at my first kill with the 308 i looked down the edge of the field and down at the end of the field i seen a big hog walking back toward the edge of the woods. Well i did not have my range finder on me but i guessed it to be right around 200 yards so i proped up on my sticks and waited for him to stop but it did not appear that he was going to stop before going into the bushes so i held a little forward on him and squeezed one off. I seen the impact and it rolled him. Hit him a little far back but dead hog none the less. I am useing the 175g SMK and it looks like it opened up on both of them. Dont guess i should worry about them on a deer huh.
