Hi guys,

just two days ago was to a gun-shop, looking for a "tactical" look rifle.

I love the Rem700 Police .308 ... and i'm sure that only changing the trigger with a Jewell, will be a "one hole shooter" .... but ...

Near the Remmy i saw a Savage 10 with Hs-Precision stock ..... awesome !

I've heard some friends, they say the Savage shoot well, (out of the box), and the "accutrigger" it's a good thing ....

Your impression ?

Thank you gun)

Hi Wheelgunner,

Yep you will not be unhappy with that purchase - I'm biased you see as I own one too!

My friend also owns the remmington 700 Police in .308 as well and I've seen the results that has with handloads - wow. Overall for factory rifles 'out of the box' they are both great.

Probably a bit more aftermarket goodies made for the Remmington 700 action, but more nice bits coming out for the Savage as time goes on...

Here is my Savage 10FP in our recent I.P.S.C. rifle match:

I like the Accutrigger - sorta like a two-stage trigger, you press the 'safety' portion of the trigger (very slight pressure required) then the next stage is a bit firmer and bang! I have felt no need to adjust the trigger as issued from the factory.

I also fitted a Vais brake which is just fantastic for reducing felt recoil - the advantage with this is you can spot you own shots:)

Cheers, CentreHit

Thank you for your reply,

very nice rifle .... exactly the same model i saw in the shop.

... they are talking about 1.200/1.150 euro's ... (the same price of the Rem700 Police) ....

You are welcome!

I have been experimenting with hand-loading since I purchased the 10FP with the 1:10 twist barrel I've discovered and others have verified the 178Grain projectiles are very nice indeed. I have yet to try the 208Grains - a lot of people on the forum swear by them as well.

You can find the larger capacity magazine here:

Sharp Shooter Supply - The Savage Specialists

I was very happy with the service I received from Sharp Shooter Supply, good to deal with.:) The modification takes all of about 30seconds to perform!

Yep, I love my Savage 10FP - just fantastic accuracy and great value for money.

Cheers.

They also make the same rifle with a mcmillan A5 stock for a few dollars more.
