SOLD/EXPIRED P.O. Ackley Volumes 1 & 2

Aldon, how old do you reckon those are? They look like they may be pretty old and might be nice to have as maybe a collector item.

They appear to be the latter version which I believe was printed in 1986.

I have read elsewhere that Ackley's work is helpful in understanding improved cartridges. wildcats and such things.

I know if you do a little google searching they sell used for around 40 a piece or more, but the collector nature may be part of that. saw a pair sell for quite a bit more not long ago.

I had been checking ebay regularly as I had been trying to find an Ohaus powder measure stand. I finally got one but I am now in the habit of checking every day. I just noticed them as a good price compared to recent trends.

Thanks for the response...looked like they are few years old.

These are realy good books (I have a set) and would make a good addition to someones library

They have some good reading and lots of information on different wildcats and Improved
cartriges.

And no I am not the one that is selling them.

I should state that I also have nothing to do with the sale.

I bought a different set a while back but have spent so much time on the road for work I have not had the opportunity to read them.

Good to know you feel they have good content:)

I get to head home next weekend and pick up my 3 rifles from the smith and perhaps read through several books that I have waiting as well.

A heartfelt public "thank you" to ALDON for giving the heads-up on this 2 volume set. A nice addition to my reloding library.

Good for you !!!

P O Ackley was a pioneer In making improvements on a limited number of cartriges to improve there
performance. He also performed a lot of Mythbuster type tails to prove if they were true or false.

Also I own a 300 #2 Ackley that he himself built and the craftsmanship is impeccable so he could walk the walk
and talk the talk.

You won't be sorry.
