Early season scout in Alaska..

Well, our deer season up here is gonna be starting in a little over a month.

My hunting partner and I have been hiking quite a bit to get in shape, and lately have been checking out some new areas we've been wanting to hunt...

Definately some space to make some long shots!

I have to admit...I wasn't to impressed with that location.

It gets hunted pretty hard, and the last few years we've had bad winter kill. This year was the first year that we had a super mild winter.

I was checking it out with high hopes that numbers would have improved there, but doesn't seem like it quite yet.

We've got 2-4 more places we wanna check out before the season starts on August 1st.....Hoping we can find a good one...
