Just bought a weatherby mark v 338-378 however it has the black and grey spider web stock like the acumark but a matte barrel with brake. barrel is floated all the way to the action checked it with dollar bill. I can't find this configuration anywhere on the internet, or in any pictures. I don't know if weatherby used to make this rifle or if this is one that someone has bought and made an upgrade on. It appears to have been shot very little. Guy traded it and a nice 700 cdl in 7mmultra mag on a 223 bench gun. If anyone is familliar with this configuration from weatherby I would appreciate any info. I got the rifle and a box of factory ammo for 800. I thought i couldn't go wrong considering i would almost have to tripple that to go to the lapua. I know this thing is no trg 42 but i have to think it will shoot respectable for the money. I plan to reload for it. Dies and shell platesd are on the way. would greatly appreciate any info that anyone out there has on this thing

Weatherby makes the 338/378 in a accumark that is just as you describe . MSRP is $1909.oo
And it should shoot very well (Less than 1.5 MOA)

Looks like you made a good deal.

J E CUSTOM

but doessn't the accumark have a stainless fluted barrel. Also it doesn't have accumark stamped on it anywhere just mark V, however i am not that well versed on weatherbys so perhaps ity si some form of accumark if so I recon I did get a good deal

Theres a guy here that goes by ''Long Time Long Ranger''. He's a bit of a Wby buff, and realy knows his stuff wherever Wby is concerned. Shoot him a P.M.
Ill bet you hell be able to confirm or shed light on what youve got.

is the barrel a sporter contour? If it is it may be that someone had a Mark 5 synthetic and put a Accumark take off stock on it. still a good rifle for sure ( I had one). If the barrel is a custom I would say that the rifle is a very good bargian.

Weatherby has made occasional runs of rifles that don't show up in their catalog. In addition, you can order custom options, including something like blackening the barrel.

To me it sounds like an Accumark that just happens to have a blackened barrel. Either way, it's a heck of a deal and you made out like a bandit. Bed the rifle and then go have fun!
