Hey guys its been a while the USMC be keeping me busy, but im lookin to take my 270 AM out hunting this year. Can you still buy wildcat bullets ? I was using the 169.5 ones but my supply is getting a little low , is there anything better out now ? or can i get the 169.5 again ?

When and if you find some or a suitable replacement shoot me a PM. Mr. Allen is building me a 277 and it would be awesome to have something better than the 140's.

That sounds great what's the best way to get ahold of you so I can be one of the first on the list for the 169.5's

The 169.5 gr ULD RBBT was and when available again will be the best bullet I have ever used in the 270 Allen Magnum. The old version had a BC in the .740 range and could be driven to 3350 to 3400 fps pretty comfortably in a 28 to 30" barrel length. Run the numbers on that and you quickly realize its long range ballistic potential!!! For game up to 400 lbs, very hard to beat if beatable at all.

sorry b23 your gonna have to be 2nd on that list. I e mailed Paul for some already as soon as he has them ready

I'll be making the 169.5 to sell in about 2 months.

Two months, you say. 2 Months!! May I live that Long. I'm going down fast.:D:D:D

The WC 169.5 is THE bullet of choice as Kirby says for game up to 400 pounds. I figure it'd do in an elk @ 1k easily. But I loaded 195s for those larger big game. My 270 AM is a bit behind the 277 AM in the velocity department but not enough to be concerned with. Though I would sure like using those Lapua cases VS the Remmy's

BTW, watch for what I think is an exciting article in next months news letter.

Has anyone got any data for 270WSM with the 169.5 Wildcats? Figured I would give them a try before I sell my 270WSM!!!!

There isn't much out there but I know that some have been 2900fps+ with a 1-10 twist and had good results. Don't remember the load. I have a reamer already for them and I'm going to look at a Lawton barrel today 28in long in a 1-9 twist, I'm hoping I can run around 3000fps!!:D
