I have a 20 moa rail on a Rem 700 that will be paired with a 30mm tube 50mm Obj Leupold. My question is what height rings do I need? And do you guys like the aluminum or regualar?

Thanks in advance.

For a starters what Leupold are you getting?.. Mk4, VX-7, VX-3L ect.

I have a set of Max 50 High for the 30 mil tube but will be changing that to the Max 50 Standard for the 30mil tube as I have a VX-3L 4.5-15x50 atop my rifle because the objective has the scallop/cut out allowing the scope to sit lower.

So as you can see there are an almost endless combination to choose from and all depending on what Objective you are getting, IE, the Standard or Scallop/cut out.

I have heard of good reports for the alloy rings from Badger and I may even get me a set of these in the future as well.

it'll be the standard objective, not the vxl.
vx3 6.5-20x50, 30mm tube, basically a rem varmint contour barrel.

.885 I don't remember if they're called standard or medium, but that is the height.

You have the number correct :)
for the Max 50's
Medium .885"
Medium High 1.00"

For the standard rings

Standard Height
Height 0.823'', diameter 30mm

Medium
Height 0.885'', diameter 30mm

Good luck jpeaston with the final outcome it will look good.

I really like the BADGER rings and bases. For a REM 700 w/ a 20moa base you can use Badger Standards 0.823" center height (this is what I use) but the most common for this setup is the 0.885". You can also use the Leupold Mark 4 rings and they are really good for the price. I also recommend alloy rings, the scope is alloy and you will not have to worry about the getting rust in between the scope and rings.
