Variable MOA mount.

That sound interesting, but wouldn't be easier to just get a scope with enough elevation in the first place?

Not really... most higher magnification scopes tend to be pretty limited in terms of elevation adjustment, and keeping them close to centered mechanically so as to allow the maximum amount of windage possible at distance (where you need it the most) starts making getting the gun zeroed at shorter ranges an interesting proposition, to put it mildly.

I've been eyeing one of these for my F/TR rifle... thinking about getting the five-position version, set the base for common yardages like 100, 300, 600, 800, 900, 1000... should be simple enough to dial back down a few minutes from the 600 yd. setting to 500yds for the matches that have that yardage, and still be able to get to 1200yds pretty easily from the 1000yd setting.

My biggest concern is that it looks like the mount sits pretty high to begin with... guess I'd be using medium rings for a change ;)
