I really enjoy the Long Range Hunting web-site. Am retired and spend a lot of my time hunting and on the rifle range. Shot Benchrest back in the late 60's and 70's.The Rem 222 was king of the hill and some went to 45/222 which also shot very well. Most of you are probably not old enough to remember the Speer Matches but to those that do, our club had them 1 year and I remember going to the Airpost and picking up Ray Speed who flew in on his own airplane. We had some pretty big name shooters including Walt Berger ( Berger Bullets ) who home range was at Mill Creek near K.C. MO.
Our range only goes to 300yds and up until this year we could go a few miles and had a range which had 800 & 1000yds. It's no longer in use.
We at this time have approx 250 members and 60 covered benches.
I wish you all well. John M,

Welcome, glad to have you here. Lots of good folks and lots of good info. Enjoy.

Is there something in the water there, or is it just that Misouri guys love to shoot, and all find L/R/H at the same time? Glad to have you here, theres been a string of shooters from Misouri that have joined lately. I gotta visit your state someday. Sounds like a great place.

winmag, don't confuse Missouri the state with Misouri-pronounced misery, not sure where it's located but don't think I want to live there:D:D:D!!! Oh man, I just made myself laugh...I just couldn't resist throwing that one at ya. lol:) Chas.

Sorry John M. were just playin. I still want to visit ''your state'' I have been miserable before, and dont care to see that again:D

Chas

only **** yankees and imported transplants pronounce it "misery", it is correctly pronounced "Missoura" for us home grown boys! :D

And if you ever saw the size of the whitetails there you would be in the hospital from tripping on your tongue.

Bountyhunter, Just like Louisiana is pronounced Loosiana so my wife born and raised there until 12 then Joplin for 2 years then Kentucky for a year pronounces it. :)
