Does anyone have load data on the 280 ackley with 190gr bullets? thinking around 50.0 grains of RL-22 to start. Hoping to get around 2700 fps out of a 28" barrel.

You should get more than that. The 280 AI is about the same as the 7mm SAUM, and I have one of those. Try Ramshot Magnum to get your velocities up there. Probably can usee 7mm SAUM load data as well. Start near the middle and work your way up in 1/2 grain steps.

Good Shooting

You didn't say what bullet or barrel twist you are using, but you may have trouble stabilizing a 190 VLD in a std. .284 twist like a 91/2.......Rich

Its a 1-9 twist, shot them today. the 280 ackley had no problem stabilizing them, worked up to 53.5 gr rl-22. only had time to shoot at 100 yrds, that said the groups with 52.0 , 52.5, 53.0, 53.5 all shot oversized one hole groups. Plan to run them over the crony next time out, and a 600 yrd test.

Sweet man, sounds like you got a good one there. I'm thinkin my next rifle will be the plain jane .280rem.
